Step 4: Coach Licence Panel Panel Review Your Licence Renewal Application

Introduction

Once the Coach Licence Renewal Panel has received your completed Coach Licence Renewal Form from the CCO (ref. Step 3), the Panel will review the submitted renewal form and agree upon a recommendation relating to your renewal application. Therefore, the purpose of this webpage is to explain the Coach Licence Renewal Panel's renewal recommendation

Step What You Need to Do
4(a)

Once the Coach Licence Renewal Panel has received your renewal application, they will review it and once completed, will recommend one of the following coach licence renewal options:

a.

Renew:

BC3

-

If the Coach Licence Renewal Panel are content that you have been working consistently at the appropriate level for the past three years AND you have the correct number of CPD points (where appropriate), the Panel WILL recommend to AGB an immediate and unconditional three year renewal of your coaching licence at your current coach grade.

b.

Action:

BC7

-

If you agree to the action plan, the Panel will recommend to AGB that your coaching licence be conditionally renewed. If AGB accept this conditional renewal recommendation, this will allow you to maintain your coaching licence until the action plan is complete.

Once the action plan is successfully completed, the Panel will recommend to AGB that the applicant’s coach licence is unconditionally re-instated. Failure to complete the action plan to satisfaction of the Coach Licence Renewal Panel by the specified date may result in the Panel recommending that your coach licence be suspended.

c.

Lower:

BC15

-

The Coach Licence Renewal Panel may considers this renewal option because the applicant has requested it. In this case, the Panel will review the information in the applicant’s Coach Licence Renewal Form assuming that the applicant is a lower grade coach. Alternatively, the Panel may recommend renewal at the lower grade based on the information provided by the applicant.

E.g.: an existing L2 coach has requested that they be renewed as a L1 coach. The Coach Licence Renewal Panel will review the existing L2 coach’s application on the basis that they are a L1 coach instead of a L2 coach.

d.

Retire:

BC22

-

Typically, the Coach Licence Renewal Panel only considers this renewal option because the applicant has requested it. Therefore, if you wish to retire from coaching, then please let the Panel know when you submit your Coach Licence Renewal Form.

e.

Reject:

BC23

-

The Coach Licence Renewal Panel would only make this recommendation if:

  • the applicant’s Coach Licence Renewal Form completely lacked the relevant information required by the panel; and
  • the applicant failed to provide answers to the questions asked by the Panel about the applicant’s coaching activities and CPD over the past three years; and
  • the applicant and the Panel failed to agree on and/or complete an action plan that was satisfactory to both parties.

Note:

The Coach Licence Renewal Panel will make every effort to renew you licence at its current grade. However, in extreme cases, the Panel may be unable to recommend renewal. Should this occur and the applicant refuse to accept an Action Plan, you have the right to appeal to a higher Panel.
