The Fred Dillon Award

Download the Dillon Nomination Form: Word document (this may appear in your downloads folder)

The Fred Dillon Award is to recognise service to archery in The County of Lancashire.

Fred Dillon of Merseyside, whose name is perpetrated by this award, was a much loved and respected archer. He was well known for his willingness to help in the development of archery in any way that he could.

  • The award has been presented annually since 1985, see below.

  • Any Lancashire archer may be nominated, but they can only hold the trophy once.

  • The trophy will not be awarded for an archer’s ability to shoot, but will be given to the person that the judges deem to have made the greatest contribution towards the improvement and/or support of archery across Lancashire in any given year.

  • Nominations must come from affiliated clubs/members, and must include full details of the service rendered. Each nomination must carry the proposers name and signature + email and/or phone number, and the name and signature of one other person who is in full agreement with the nomination.

  • The LAA Secretary will send the nomination forms out by email prior to the LAA championships, there will be a clear closing date given in the email.

  • Unsuccessful nominations will be carried forward. We will contact proposers to confirm inclusion in the following years’ award process.
