LAA News

Fantastic Sunday's work by the Lancashire senior team at the 5 Counties match in Knutsford. Lancashire came away with : Overall County Team, Recurve Team, Compound Team, Recurve Longest Distance, Gents Recurve Team, Ladies Compound Team, Best Recurve Team vs. Cheshire & Yorkshire, Best Recurve Team vs. Cheshire (8 trophies in all)!

Individual 1st places were achieved by: Hallie Boulton (ladies compound), Hamish Freeman (gents longbow) & Helen Brown (ladies barebow).

Well done all, a great effort in tricky conditions! (Paul T, Team Manager)

New LAA County Record Rounds It was agreed at the recent LAA committee meeting that Lancashire will incorporate the following rounds as county records (in sync with AGB):

• Double WA 720 70m (RC/LB/BB, men, women & juniors)
• Double WA 720 60m (RC/LB/BB, cadets & juniors)
• Double WA 720 50m (Comp, men, women & juniors)

However, at this time we will NOT incorporate new Masters rounds for archers aged over 50s. The men's masters WA 1440 round being a 'Ladies FITA', and the women's Masters round WA 1440 round being a 'Metric II'.

It was felt that (a) the 'over 50' did not fit the age profile of Lancashire archers, many who are over 50, and (b) there was likely to be little call for gents to shoot the ladies FITA, and for women to shoot a 'junior round'. However, we will keep the situation under review, and if there is a call for WA Masters rounds & county records we will look at the issue again.
